EZ FLEX MATS - DO NOT BUY

SUMMARY:

We purchased 100 mats from EZ Flex Mats. 80% were severely damaged due to their fault. They have been unwilling to work with us in making this right. Go with their direct competitor Landmark Athletics instead.

DETAILS:

We placed an order with EZ Flex Mats on January 2022, and the final mats were not completed until June 2022. It took 6 months to complete our order for 100 mats, when it should have taken 1-2 months. This is not the worse though…

We received the mats in July and 80% of them were damaged and unsellable. These were due to a combination of production issues (they recently brought their printing in-house), poor packaging and shipping issues.

Example of damage:

As you can clearly see, the damages are SEVERE. There are many more like this (keep reading).

One primary reason for the damages is poor packaging on behalf of EZ Flex. EZ Flex used metal straps that were strapped tightly against the pallet and mats, causing them to rip and tear into the foam and vinyl surface. It was surprising that no one added any protection between the mats and straps.

Another reason for the damages is likely due to shipping, but EZ Flex should not be absolved of responsibility here. They hired the shipping carrier, and after we reported damages to EZ-Flex, they refused to communicate and file damage claims with the carrier. We were unable to do it on their behalf as they were the ones that hired, and more importantly paid them.

Furthermore, they only paid for the bare minimum insurance ($0.50 per pound), according to the carrier. Meaning any filing would have only produced around $50 in refunds.

Any company who doesn’t buy insurance to ship is usually trying to cut corners (they could have easily asked us and we would have been happy to pay additional shipping insurance fees), or they have their own shipping insurance. EZ Flex could have claimed this with their own shipping insurance, but their customer service has been so poor that they refused to do this. Damages like below could easily have been claimed:

Printing issues was the 3rd primary issue EZ flex had, though we're not going to share images of it because you’d have to understand our intended design, so just take our word that it was poor.

Ultimately a combination of poor workmanship, lazy packaging and non-existing customer support leaves us out several thousand dollars.

We get it, mistakes happen, but EZ Flex is completely unwilling to work with us to make this right. This has been escalated all the way up to their president, Ben Anderson, who just doesn't seem to care. They have been unwilling to:

- file claims with the carrier (they hired and chose the carrier)

- remake and replace the mats

- provide a refund

We were willing to work with them on any of these points, but their customer service has been horrendous.

If you are planning on purchasing with EZ Flex Mats, go somewhere else! Their direct competitor Landmark Athletics is an option. We’ve never used them ourselves, but they can’t be any worse than what we’ve experienced here.
